Campbell River Christian School has been added to Island Health’s COVID-19 exposure list as of Tuesday morning as cases in British Columbia are in decline.

A school in Campbell River has been added to Island Health’s COVID-19 exposure list as of Tuesday morning as cases in British Columbia are in decline.

Parents, students and staff of Campbell River Christian School are being cautioned about possible exposures to the coronavirus at the end of April.

Campbell River Christian School — located at 250 S Dogwood St. — experienced a COVID-19 exposure on April 27 and 29, according to Island Health.

The facility becomes the eleventh school that is currently on Island Health’s Exposures in Schools list.

Over the weekend, École John Stubbs in Victoria, École des Deux Mondes in Campbell River and Mill Bay Nature School in Mill Bay were all added to the list.

An exposure is defined by Island Health as a single person with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection who attended school during their infectious period.

Island Health says a child can continue to attend school if a parent or guardian does not receive a phone call or letter from public health.

The health authority says that should a parent or guardian see a notification on the Island Health school exposure site, it does not necessarily mean their child has been exposed to COVID-19.
