Campbell River RCMP is reaching out to the public for assistance after a travel trailer was stolen earlier this week.

According to a report, police were informed that a Campbell River resident woke up to find his trailer missing from the front of his home on June 28.

The house is located in the 1200-block of Denis Road in Campbell River.

RCMP says that video footage of the area showed the trailer being towed away from the area at approximately 4:00 a.m.

The 20 ft. Weekender travel trailer was being towed by what appeared to be a U-Haul Cube Van, according to police.

Police are cautioning the public to be careful when storing trailers as “they appear to be a growing theft commodity,” reads a statement from RCMP.

Campbell River RCMP is recommending that residents with trailers should use high-quality hitch locks and specialized hub locks.

Anyone with information regarding the theft of the Weekender Trailer is being asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
