Campbell River RCMP kept watch of an unoccupied home in the 600-block of 8th Avenue through Monday night. RCMP and Campbell River Fire are investigating what police are saying is a suspicious fire.
Investigators are back at the scene of a fire in Campbell River that police are calling suspicious.
Campbell River RCMP and fire responded to reports of a residential fire in the 600-block of 8th Avenue Monday at around 3 p.m.
Police say the structure has been unoccupied for a significant amount of time, but there have been reports of squatters coming and going from the home.
Officers remained at the scene through the night to keep watch on the property and police tape could be seen around the home.
There’s no word on the extent of damage to the structure and there are no reports of injuries.
Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
