Campbell River RCMP say they arrested a local man on October 10 for multiple property related offences after locating a stolen vehicle.

According to the RCMP, members of a Community Response Unit (CRU) located a vehicle in the 700 block of the South Island Highway that had been reported as stolen.

The RCMP subsequently arrested a man in possession of the keys to the stolen vehicle. The man was also in possession of a significant amount of powder believed to be Meth Amphetamine.

Following the arrest the RCMP executed a Search Warrant in the area of the 700 block and were able to recover a significant amount of stolen property.

The man has been identified as Gregg Pete. Pete has been charged with multiple offences including Breaking and Entering, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

“We are very pleased that we were able to apprehend this known Property Crime Offender.” said CRU Cpl. Chad Murray. “When we can remove an offender and drugs from the street it has an immediate impact to the public’s safety.”

The Campbell River RCMP say that anyone who is a victim of a crime or that has information related to a crime should call the RCMP at 250-286-6221. Those wishing to report anonymously may do so via Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
