Victoria police say bystanders followed and detained a suspect after a woman was stabbed Thursday night.
VicPD say officers responded to Princess Avenue and Douglas Street just before 9:30 p.m. for the report of a stabbing. The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was released from hospital several hours after the stabbing.
According to police, bystanders were able to follow the suspect and detain him in the 1900-block of Store Street. The man was then arrested by VicPD. Police are recommending charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and three counts of breach conditions.
The man’s name has not been released at this time.
