Those wishing to see beautiful blossoms and pretty petals will have to look elsewhere than the Butchart Gardens as they are now closed due to COVID-19 concerns.

“We apologize to and thank the many visitors for your messages of appreciation for providing a safe, beautiful and peaceful place to find solace in these troubled times,” said the Butchart Gardens on their website.

The tourist attraction had already taken measures to protect its guests, announcing the week prior to closing the spacing out of visitors, and the closure of the gift shop, restaurants, Information Centre and Rose Carousel.

All spring promotions were cancelled, including the Bunny Hunt.

“We also apologize to those who were looking forward to visiting us,” said the gardens.

But with the threat of COVID-19 spreading quickly throughout BC, the gardens have decided to halt all operations immediately.

Butchart Gardens says it will review this decision in two weeks.
