Boil water advisory in effect for North Cedar Improvement District

A boil water advisory issued on Friday for the North Cedar Improvement District remains in place on Monday evening.

A notice from the NCID says that the district must have 2 days of clear water sampling results submitted to Island Health before the health officer will lift the boil order.

It was issued on Friday, January 4th due to flooding at the district well site that has caused high turbidity.

The NCID says that all water used for domestic purposes (drinking, cooking, etc.) should be boiled before consumption. The boiling should be at a rolling boil and for a minimum of one minute.

It goes on to say that NCID staff are continually monitoring the water supply and will provide updates as they become available.
