Victoria police are investigating after a body was found near the Selkirk Trestle on Tuesday.

At around 2:20 p.m., police tweeted they were at the scene for the report of a deceased person. A forensic team could be seen on the dock near the trestle.

“We will have more information as it becomes available,” police wrote in the tweet.

The area where the body was found is not far from where 26-year-old Duncan Pucker was last seen on Feb. 4.

Police said Pucker was last seen in the 900-block of Arm Street near the waterway. A dive team and other officers searched the Gorge Waterway for Pucker after he was reported missing.

The BC Coroner’s Service has been notified about the body.
