There were multiple reports of bear sightings in and around the Glen Lake area in Langford on Monday evening.
A witness tells CHEK News that he and several of his neighbours spotted a large black bear on the 3100-block of Glen Lake Road near Parkdale Drive around 7:45 p.m.
A large black bear was then seen in a gravel pit between Page Avenue and Sooke Road near the Galloping Goose Trail about 45-minutes later.
West Shore RCMP responded and the BC Conservation Officer Service was called in.
The bear appears to have left the gravel pit and headed back into a wooded area nearby.
