A small black bear was spotted in the Beaver Lake area on Sunday evening.
Saanich police said the bear was alone and wandering down Townsend Road. It was seen at around 5 p.m. and reported to Saanich police at 11:30 p.m. The BC Conservation Officer Service ws notified by police.
Residents are reminded to be vigilant with respect to the safety of their pets and small children.
