The beer was flowing at the new Phillips Brewery tasting room on Government Street in Victoria on Friday night.
A steady stream of customers turned up for the grand opening of the new 42-seat venue in a storefront commercial space adjacent to the existing brewery
The growler filling station and other retail services have also been moved into the new venue.
“The focus of this facility is for us to be able to be explain the wide variety of beers that we’re making,” said brewery founder Matt Phillips.
“Pair them with foods that appropriate, and hopefully give people more information about beer in general and our beers in particular”
Started back in 2001, Phillips is Vancouver Island’s largest independent brewer.
The retail section is open from 10am to 10pm daily, while the tasting room is open from noon to 10 pm daily.
