The BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) says not claiming a winning lottery ticket could be scarier than any ghosts and ghouls you see this Halloween season.

In a release Tuesday morning, the BCLC says a Lotto 6/49 player has yet to come forward to claim the $1 million prize for a ticket that was bought Jan. 3 in Victoria.

The winning ticket is an exact match for the 10-digit Lotto 6/49 Guaranteed Prize Draw, and B.C.’s newest, and unknown, millionaire has until Jan. 3, 2019 to claim the prize.

The BCLC is encouraging you to check your “pockets, jackets, junk drawers” and anywhere you might keep a lottery ticket.

The odds of winning a Lotto 6/49 jackpot is one-in-13,983,816 and the BCLC says there have been three jackpots won in B.C. in 2018.
