The barrier, which is a full door made of Plexiglas, will physically separate drivers and passengers. The doors still allow drivers to interact with customers.

Five barriers, including three in Victoria, one in Abbotsford and one in Kelowna, will be installed for approximately $6,000 each over the next six months.
The pilot project of full doors started after a number of attacks against drivers. BC Transit has also installed closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, driver training, partnerships with first responders and enhanced communication technology on the bus.
