BC Transit is offering free service in three Vancouver Island regions on New Year’s Eve to help people ring in the new year safely.
The free rides will be offered in the Victoria Regional Transit System, the Regional District of Nanaimo and in Port Alberni.
In Victoria, buses will be free starting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 for both regular buses and handyDART vehicles.
Meanwhile, buses will be free in Nanaimo from 6 p.m. until 2:30 a.m., while service will be free from 7:30 p.m. to 1:25 a.m. in Port Alberni.
