BC Transit has announced some adjustments to its fall schedule in the Victoria Regional Transit System in an effort to align with current ridership demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a press release from BC Transit issued on Monday, the transport authority has revealed that service level increases will be implemented on most routes, compared to the current summer schedule.

BC Transit is noting, however, that the typical service change between summer and fall has been modified from previous years. The modified schedule includes adjusting to measures taken by post-secondary institutions like the majority of classes moving to an online format.

In addition to a modified fall schedule, the transportation organization has announced that later evening service will be reinstated on Fridays and Saturdays. Late service will be added to the following routes:

  • 4 UVic/Downtown
  • 6 Downtown/Royal Oak Exchange
  • 14 UVic/Vic General
  • 15 Esquimalt/UVic
  • 27 Gordon Head/Downtown
  • 28 Majestic/Downtown
  • 50 Langford/Downtown

This fall, late-night service is slated to end at approximately 1:30 a.m. departing downtown Victoria.

The new scheduled changes will come into effect on September 7.

BC Transit is advising riders to familiarize themselves with respective route changes by visiting the organization’s website.
