B.C. Housing Minister said Robinson speaking Saturday about plans to help renters during the coronavirus crisis

The province’s Housing Minister Selina Robinson says “help is on the way” for renters during the coronavirus crisis.

Robinson made the announcement at a press conference Saturday, and says more details will be released early next week.

A moratorium on evictions due to non-payment of rent in housing that is managed by B.C. Housing has also been announced.

“I know that many people are worried about how they are going to make ends meet, put food on the table, and pay rent [by April 1],” said Robinson.

She added broader measures to protect against eviction are also on the table.

“We don’t want anyone evicted during this very difficult time. It is unprecedented,” she added.
