Bc Ferries is adding additional sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay

As the province is set to loosen some restrictions for businesses, BC Ferries is gearing up to add extra sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay to help maintain the movement of essential goods.

Starting May 15, BC Ferries is adding an 11 a.m. sailing from Swartz Bay, and a 1 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen Monday through Friday.

BC Ferries is also adding two additional sailings on May 16, a 7 a.m. departure from Swartz Bay and a 9 a.m. sailing leaving from Tsawwassen.

On May 24 and onwards, Sundays will see a schedule change including a 3 p.m. sailing from Tsawwassen and a 5 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay.

Last week, BC Ferries announced the decision to allow passengers on cargo-designated sailings.

All sailings will maintain the 50 per cent passenger capacity as per Transportation Canada orders until at least June 30. Both essential goods and passengers will be on the sailings.

Schedules are subject to change as the travel company continues to monitor traffic situations and orders set out by the provincial health officers.

All food and retail outlets both on terminals and onboard ferries, including vending machines, are closed until further notice to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

For more information or traffic updates and schedules visit the BC Ferries website or call toll free at 1-888-BCFERRY (223-3779).
