BC Ferries says sailings will resume along the Victoria – Salt Spring Island route after several sailings were cancelled Saturday morning.
Sailings between 9:50 a.m. and 3 p.m. were cancelled between Swartz Bay and Fulford Harbour due to a staff shortage.
On Saturday morning, BC Ferries said all sailings would be canceled until 7 p.m. However, in an update Saturday afternoon, the company said sailings would resume, beginning with the 3:50 p.m. sailing departing from Fulford Harbour.
The reinstated sailings along the Swartz Bay and Fulford Harbour route can be found below:
- 3:50 p.m. departing Fulford Harbour (Salt Spring Island)
- 5 p.m. departing Swarz Bay (Victoria)
- 5:50 p.m. departing Fulford Harbour (Salt Spring Island)
- 7 p.m. departing Swarz Bay (Victoria)
A complimentary 50-person water taxi was also brought into service Saturday morning to help during the cancelled sailings.
That free water taxi will stop running after it completes its 3 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay.
“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations,” said BC Ferries in an update around noon.
