BC Ferries is getting ready for an influx of holiday travellers and has added 74 extra sailings between Vancouver Island and Vancouver for the Easter long weekend.

Sixty-two additional sailings are scheduled for the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay route and 12 extra sailing are scheduled between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay. Six additional sailings are also scheduled between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale.

BC Ferries said the busiest times are expected to be between mid-day Thursday, March 29 to late morning Friday, March 30, along with the afternoon of the holiday Monday, which is on April 2.

There is a travel advisory that shows popular sailings between Metro Vancouver – Vancouver Island and Metro Vancouver – Sunshine Coast posted on the BC Ferries website. Reservations are recommended.

Early morning and late evening savings will be available on select sailings during the Easter long weekend and spring break. From March 15 to April 3, standard under-height vehicles and drivers can travel from $39 on more than 300 select sailings between Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen – Duke Point, Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay – Langdale.

Reservations for May 24 to Oct. 8 will be open by the end of March.
