Thirteen people in British Columbia have died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

B.C. health officials in a statement to the media Thursday reported 13 deaths and 391 new COVID-19 cases.

None of the new deaths were in Island Health. The region, however, recorded 85 new cases.

There are 511 individuals hospitalized with COVID, a decrease of six from the previous day, 79 of whom are in intensive care — an increase of six in the past 24 hours.

The total number of reported COVID-19 cases in B.C. now stands at 349,604 while the death toll climbs to 2,896.

Editor’s note: B.C. health officials no longer report active case figures and actual reported new cases and total cases are likely higher due to testing limits.
