Bastion Square Parkade on Yates Street now open after crash sends two people to hospital

The Bastion Square Parkade at 575 Yates Street in Victoria has reopened following an earlier crash that sent a pedestrian and a driver to hospital.

According to VicPD, a driver entered the parkade and suffered a medical event. A pedestrian was struck and the car collided with three cement parking posts, another vehicle and into another post before getting stuck on a parking post and striking a parked motorcycle.

Two people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The City of Victoria originally said at around 12 p.m. that the parkade would be closed for the remainder of the day but customers who are already in the parkade will be able to leave.

At around 2 p.m., the city announced the parkade has reopened.

There are 361 parking spaces in the parkade.
