A Victoria pub has experienced a possible COVID-19 exposure event.

Island Health is warning people who attended Bard and Banker in downtown Victoria on Jan. 23 between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. about potential exposure to COVID-19.

The health authority says there is no ongoing COVID-19 risk from this exposure has been identified, however, those who attended the pub during that timeframe are being instructed to monitor themselves for symptoms.

“Contact tracing has been completed, and anyone identified as a close contact has been instructed to self-isolate,” Island Health said in a statement.

Individuals who have not been contacted by public health do not “have a high-risk exposure related to this case,” according to Island Health.

It’s the first time Island Health has publicly reported that Bard and Banker has experienced a COVID-19 exposure event.

However, in September, the pub confirmed that one of their employees had tested positive for the virus.

Anyone who is experiencing symptoms and wants to get tested for COVID-19 can call Island Health’s testing call centre at 1-844-901-8442 between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily.
