B.C. reports 523 people hospitalized with COVID; no new deaths

Health officials in B.C. say there are 523 in the province hospitalized with COVID, 83 in intensive care.

There have been no new COVID-related deaths in the province since the previous update.

There are 466 new confirmed cases in the province, 95 in Island Health.

In the other health authorities, Interior Health has 193 new confirmed cases, Fraser Health has 101, Northern Health has 45, Vancouver Coastal Health has 45, and there is one new confirmed case in people who normally reside outside Canada.

There are no new healthcare facility outbreaks in the province.

From Feb. 21-27, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 19.4 per cent of cases. From Feb. 14-27, they accounted for 34.7 per cent of hospitalizations.

People who have not received any doses of a COVID vaccine represent 9.4 per cent of the province, and 4.3 per cent have only received one dose.

Since December 2020, the province has administered 11,344,610 doses of COVID vaccines.
