B.C. adds 108 new COVID-19 cases, four in Island Health

British Columbia health officials have reported 108 new cases and no new deaths from COVID-19 since their last update on Monday.

The number of confirmed cases in B.C. climbs to 146,561 while the province’s death toll stands at 1,734.

Of the new cases, 11 were recorded in Vancouver Coastal Health, 53 were in Fraser Health, four in Island Health, 37 in Interior Health, and  three in Northern Health.

There are currently 1,496 active cases in the province and 139 people in hospital — 39 of whom are in intensive care.

A total of 143,299 people in B.C. have recovered from COVID-19 while 4,102,905 doses of vaccine have been administered province-wide.

Today’s numbers were announced by Dr. Bonnie Henry and Adrian Dix in a written release.
