Comox Valley RCMP are asking the public for help identifying a man suspected of trying to rob a business in Courtenay.
According to the detachment, a man walked into an unidentified business in the 400-block of Ryan Road on Nov. 22 and wandered around.
After a short period of time, the man went to the counter and told the clerk he had a knife and demanded money.
RCMP say the clerk then asked for help from customers inside the store and the man ran away on foot.
The suspect is described as a 20 to 25-year-old male who is between five-foot-three and five-foot-four inches tall. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing black Adidas pants, white shoes, and a puffy grey jacket.
“There were several witnesses inside the store at the time this occurred and we would like to hear from them; they might not even be aware of exactly what happened,” Const. Monika Terragni, media relations officer with the Comox Valley RCMP, said in a press release.
Anyone with information, surveillance, or dashcam footage, is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS. People can also provide information about the incident online at www.comoxvalleycrimestoppers.bc.ca.
