Nanaimo RCMP said this vessel was stolen from the Seaplane dock on Sept. 28, 2018.

Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public to help them locate a 19-foot safety/assistance vessel that was stolen sometime overnight from the Seaplane dock.

Police said the theft likely occurred in the early morning hours of Friday.

The vessel that was stolen is a Typhoon 580 RHIB is blue with grey markings and is approximately 19 feet (5.8 metres) in length, with a 90 HP Yamaha engine attached. A number of personal flotation devices (PFDs), fire extinguishers, towing ropes, throw bags and other equipment were onboard. The hull ID is CNBHFR5802D616 and Transport Canada Register # C25994BC.

There were no keys in the vessel and police said it was moored out of the water on a specially-fitted dock.
