Array of coins, jewelry and war medals seized in Nanaimo

WATCH: Nanaimo RCMP are appealing for your help to reunite stolen war medals and jewelry with their rightful owner after the items were found in a bizarre arrest last week. On Monday, an out-of-control jeep crashed into a Nanaimo trucking yard and truckers held the suspect for RCMP to arrest. Skye Ryan reports.

Nanaimo RCMP is hoping to find the owner or owners of a number of coins, jewelry and war medals that were seized during an arrest March 26.

The jewelry found includes watches, earrings, bracelets and rings, and many of the coins are from European countries.

The items seized were in several bags and found in the vehicle in which the suspect male was driving and investigators are confident they were stolen.

Police say the suspect was arrested on numerous driving charges.

RCMP is asking for anyone who has information on the lawful ownership of the items to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
