Another employee at a grocery store in North Cowichan has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to an information bulletin posted on Sobey’s website, an employee working at the Thrifty Foods located on Beverly Street in North Cowichan, near the Duncan border, recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The employee’s last day working at the location was Nov. 9.

The announcement comes a little more than 10 days after another employee at the same Thrifty’s location reportedly tested positive.

Sobey’s, the parent company of Thrifty Foods, does not disclose when employees tested positive, instead, saying that they work with public health to support those who become infected.

“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads a statement on the company’s website.

The company is one of the few remaining large corporations operating in B.C. to publicly announce if their employees test positive for COVID.
