Alleged prowler who threatened resident in Fernwood caught on video

Victoria police are hoping to identify a man allegedly caught prowling around a residence in Fernwood before threatening a local and sneaking through a window into a nearby apartment.

Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, VicPD officers were called to the 2000-block of Chambers Street for a report of a man prowling in front of a residence.

An area resident told officers that the suspect, a man, threatened them after they spotted the man on private property and captured him on video, according to VicPD in a release. Officers attended the scene but were unable to find him.

CHEK News has reached out to VicPD for more details about the alleged threat.

Then just before 5:30 a.m., officers were called to a nearby multi-suite residence in the 1000-block of Princess Avenue after a man was seen entering through a window into one of the suites. VicPD says officers attended but didn’t find the suspect, whose description “closely resembled” the man from the early incident.

The man is described as approximately 35 years old and standing 5’10” with a slim build and short hair. He wore a black hoodie and gloves and had a black collapsible canvas wagon.

VicPD has released pictures and video of the man.
