ICBC says all 2.8 million rebate cheques are now in the mail, and customers should be receiving them soon.

The insurance company says around 25,000 rebates were issued by direct deposit, and 573,000 were issued to a credit card.

Customers who paid by debit, cash, cheque, payment plan, and customers whose credit cards couldn’t be processed will be receiving a cheque in the mail.

“All of the cheques have been sent to Canada Post for delivery and those deliveries have been happening since the start of June so it shouldn’t be long before the remaining cheques arrive in mailboxes,” said ICBC in an emailed statement.

ICBC says a total of roughly $396 million is being sent out for the rebate.

Also, the company is warning of fraudulent texts being sent out claiming to contain the rebate.

“ICBC will not issue any rebates to customers via text message or email,” the statement says. “If you receive a text message asking you to click a link to receive your relief rebate, please delete the message – this is a scam.”
