The final response from a contestant, caught Alex Trebek off guard, leaving the seasoned “Jeopardy!” host fighting back tears.
Instead of writing a correct response to the “Final Jeopardy” question, contestant Dhruv Gaur’s response was “We love you, Alex!” — with a heart in place of the word love.
Trebek’s voice cracked as he thanked Gaur, saying “That’s very kind.”
Trebek announced in September he had resumed chemotherapy in his fight against pancreatic cancer.
