Advisory issued for Eagle beach at Elk Lake due to high levels of bacteria in the water
People and pets are being advised not to enter the water at two beaches on Elk Lake after water samples showed high levels of bacteria.
An advisory posted on Friday warns that the water may be unsafe for swimming and recreational activities at Eagle Beach.
It follows an advisory for nearby Hamsterly Beach on August 16.
The Capital Regional District says it is acting in consultation with Island Health.
Further sampling is underway.
