Motorists heading southbound from the Cowichan Valley to Greater Victoria should expect delays.

DriveBC traffic cameras are currently showing heavy traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway 1 southbound through the Malahat.

The slowdown begins just before Okotoks Drive and continues beyond Tunnel Hill. It is due to a mixture of normal weekend volume and protestors who are part of a convoy heading to downtown Victoria.

Although DriveBC has not provided any information about the delays, their cameras show some protestors holding a Canadian flag along the side of the highway at Okotoks Drive.

A CHEK News reporter caught in the traffic reported seeing multiple vehicles with Canadian flags driving slower than normal.
