RCMP says the fire was deemed suspicious after their initial investigation and is asking anyone who may know who started the fire or identify how it started to call them.

“This fire had an effect on everyone that worked for Salmon Point, people lost their livelihoods,” Campbell River RCMP Cst. Maury Tyre said in a statement.

“It’s important that we have the opportunity to hold the person or persons to account who started the fire.”

Anyone with information about the Salmon Point fire is asked to call Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
