On one of the busiest travel days of the year, the BC Ferries website has been restored after an eight-hour outage.
BC Ferries announced the website was restored shortly after 3 p.m.

The outage was first announced on Twitter just before 7 a.m.

Around 9:30 the company updated that the issue had been identified and crews were working to resolve it.

As is typical for long weekends, the ferry company was seeing sailing waits at Swartz Bay, Departure Bay, Duke Point and Langdale as people are trying to make their way home.
