Nine new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in B.C., bringing the total cases in the province to 73.

The update was given at a press conference on Saturday by Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix.

None of the new cases were found on Vancouver Island.

The province will also be announcing new coronavirus testing centres in the province in the coming days, once they are set up.

Henry also urged the public to not empty store shelves.

“Be measured in the purchase of groceries…[this buying] is natural in a situation like this with lots of unknowns…[but] we don’t have an issue with not having enough supply,” Henry added.
