Passengers who were on recent flights that landed on Vancouver Island are being warned about possible exposure to COVID-19.
The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) added four flights connected to Victoria and one connected to Comox at the beginning of October to its COVID-19 exposure list.
The five affected flights are listed below:
- WestJest flight 3335 from Calgary to Comox on Oct. 1 (affected rows are 2-8)
- Air Canada flight 377 from Montreal to Victoria on Oct. 1 (affected rows are 22-28)
- WestJest flight 335 from Edmonton to Victoria on Oct. 3 (affected rows are 7-13)
- WestJet flight 195 from Calgary to Victoria on Oct. 3 (affected rows are 14-20)
- Air Canada/Jazz flight 8555 from Calgary to Victoria on Oct. 3 (affected rows are 24-27)
BCCDC says passengers who were on a flight that has been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure list should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and those who were sitting in rows identified are considered to be at a higher risk of exposure due to their proximity.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, runny nose, headache and fatigue.
