49-year-old man found in Kemp Lake, suspected drowning: Sooke RCMP

Police say they do not suspect foul play.

Sooke RCMP has reported a man was found in Kemp Lake near Sooke early Friday morning.

Police responded to a report of a body found in the lake just before 7 a.m.

The body was recovered by the RCMP dive team and was identified as a 49-year-old man, according to police.

Police say the man’s next of kin have been notified since the body was found.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Brett Sinden said police don’t suspect foul play was involved.

“Our thoughts are with the family and anyone affected by the tragic discovery,” said Sinden.

Sooke RCMP is supporting the BC Coroners Service in their investigation.
