Authorities say a man who was reported missing from Oak Bay Tuesday morning has been found safe.
Forty-four-year-old Mark Lovett was believed to have gone to the Shawnigan Lake area yesterday for off-road activities in his jeep. At around 2 p.m., police reported that Lovett had been found. They said his jeep broke down near Jordan River and he walked to Sooke.
Lovett was last seen in Oak Bay around 7:45 a.m. Monday. Oak Bay Police asked Sooke RCMP for assistance and also worked with Shawnigan Lake RCMP.
An RCMP helicopter was flying over the area to help conduct the search, with an Oak Bay officer on board to assist.

Police say Lovett may have also gone to the Weeks Lake area, 25 kilometres west of Shawnigan Lake.
Lovett is described as 5’9″ with a medium build, short hair and blue eyes.
He is believed to be wearing the same clothes in the picture released by police.
Lovett’s jeep is a red 2001 TJ with B.C. licence plate EB313K.

?This is apparently completely out of character for Mr. Lovett so we are very concerned,? Oak Bay police Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties said.
?The general area where he is believed to have gone is quite vast and remote and we do not believe he was equipped for overnighting in these cold conditions.?
