A moderate earthquake rumbled several hundred kilometres off the coast of Vancouver Island on Thursday evening, according to Earthquakes Canada.
The shake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, roughly 206 kilometres southwest of Port Alice, and 211 kilometres west of Tofino.
Since the earthquake occurred, two people have reported a “weak” shaking sensation to Earthquakes Canada.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the earthquake as being slightly stronger with a 5.0 magnitude.
Eleven people have reported feeling the earthquake to the USGS.
Earthquakes Canada says there are no reports of damage and none would be expected from the earthquake.
