West Shore RCMP say the gas tank and diesel fuel inside is worth approximately $6,700.

West Shore RCMP are investigating after a full 3,500-litre gas tank was stolen from a construction site in Langford.

The theft occurred sometime overnight on Feb. 11, and a forklift from a neighbouring site was used to haul the gas tank, according to a release.

The tank and fuel is estimated to be worth approximately $6,700. RCMP say the forklift was not stolen.

Information about the theft is only now being released as RCMP had to confirm information about the theft with the owner and were waiting for a picture of the fuel tank.

No suspects have yet been identified.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
