Three more recent Vancouver Island flights have had at least one positive COVID-19 case on board.
The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) on Sunday added Air Canada/Jazz flight 8266 from Nanaimo to Vancouver on Aug. 23, Air Canada/Jazz flight 8265 from Vancouver to Nanaimo on Aug. 28 and WestJet flight 3260 from Victoria to Kelowna on Aug. 29 to their COVID-19 exposure list.
The affected rows on both Air Canada flights were 7-13 while the affected rows on the WestJet flight were 2-8.
BCCDC says passengers who were on a flight that has been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure list should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and those who were sitting in rows identified are considered to be at a higher risk of exposure due to their proximity.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, runny nose, headache and fatigue.
The three flights bring the number of Island flights added to the exposure list since Wednesday to 11. A total of 130 flights linked to Vancouver Island have been added to the list this year, with more than 40 occurring in August.
