The Comox Valley RCMP is reporting that a 20-year-old woman has died following a car accident that took place on Denman Island.
The incident occurred along Danes Road on Denman Island on July 22 at approximately 8:40 p.m.
RCMP says that officers received a report of a single-vehicle collision and when investigators arrived on the scene, they were able to determine the vehicle had lost control.
Police determined that as the vehicle lost control, the passenger — the 20-year-old woman — was thrown from the vehicle.
According to RCMP, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The remaining occupants of the vehicle were uninjured in the crash.
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and attended the scene to launch its own concurrent fact-finding investigation.
In order to protect the privacy and identity of the deceased, no further information will be released by police.
