Two men were arrested early Friday morning for alleged drug trafficking after West Shore RCMP received a complaint about erratic driving.

West Shore RCMP also seized approximately 31 grams of what is believed to be crystal meth, approximately six grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine, several cellphones and knives.

The drugs and other items were seized after police stopped a brown Pontiac Sunfire on Goldstream Avenue. The traffic stop was carried out after West Shore RCMP received a report of the vehicle weaving all over the road on the Island Highway in Colwood.

Police discovered that the two men in the vehicle, a 49-year-old man from Esquimalt and a 50-year-old from Victoria, had a no-contact order between each other. The order stemmed from both men being arrested in Victoria on July 29 on drug-related charges.

Both suspects were arrested and held in custody.

This is a great teamwork example on how the public and the police work together, Const. Alex Bérubé, a spokesperson for the RCMP in the West Shore, said in a statement.
