Miraculously, no one was injured after a 13-year-old boy crashed a super car off the side of the Trans Canada Highway in B.C. last week.

The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on March 25, when West Vancouver Police were called to the side of the highway for a report of a single-vehicle collision.

When officers arrived, they found a Lamborghini Huracan crashed into a ditch, but no one was inside the vehicle.

“Officers began an exhaustive search to ensure the well being of the driver and any passengers,” said Sgt. Chris Bigland with the West Vancouver Police in a release Tuesday.

Police were able to speak with the owner of the vehicle and learned that a 13-year-old boy was behind the wheel after taking the luxury car on a West Van Police describe as a “joy ride.”

Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash, police say.

“The youth and a friend decided to take the car for a drive but were unable to control the car in the dark and rainy conditions,” said Bigland.

“While significant property damage has been done, we are grateful that no one was hurt in the collision,” he added.

Police say the young driver is facing four charges under the Motor Vehicle Act, including driving with no driver’s licence, driving without due care, speeding, and failing to remain at the scene of a crash.

According to auto website Driving.ca, a new 2024 Lamborghini Huracán costs $288,019 to $410,143 CAD.
