The crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Saanich police are expressing their condolences after a woman was pronounced dead following a crash into a home on Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the 700-block of Rogers Avenue around 8:43 a.m. for a report of a minivan crashing into a home.

“When first responders arrived, they discovered that a Dodge Caravan had crashed into a front porch of a house at a relatively low speed,” said police in a release Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say the driver of the minivan, a 46-year-old woman, suffered a “significant medical event,” which caused the crash.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
