Saanich Fire Platoon Captain Mitch Williams says fire crews were on site for about 30 minutes Saturday.

The exact cause of the fire has not been determined, but it’s believed to have started in the vehicle’s engine compartment.

Meanwhile, the Saanich Police Department was also on scene helping keep the area clear until firefighting efforts were complete.

It was a busy day for the fire department’s Engine Company 1, which was called to a dumpster fire on Saturday morning, followed by this car fire in the afternoon, before being dispatched to another fire shortly after.
