Oak Bay Police today alerted local businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency.
They say they’ve received six reports of counterfeit cash being passed in the municipality in the past month.
The denominations have been Canadian $50 and $100 bills.
The police say a variety of businesses have been targeted.
The bills are obviously not real on close inspection.
Oak Bay Police are advising businesses to refresh their staff on counterfeit detection training.
