Fire crews responded to a work truck fire in Arbutus Ridge on July 7.

Mark Sandner was at Cobble Hill-area home on Friday when he heard a knock at the door. When he went to answer he found the fire department telling him to get out of his house.

Once outside, Sandner saw a work truck engulfed in flames on the street in front of his house.

Capt. Dean Kwasny with Mill Bay Fire says the truck was repairing cracks on Country Grove Drive when an issue with its engine resulted in it catching fire.

Kwasny says the fire was easily extinguished, and that thankfully no one was injured.

Three trucks with six firefighters responded to the blaze, and Kwasny says there was no wind.

The truck has since been towed away.
