Police seize drugs and multiple firearms from supportive housing unit, one arrested

Drugs and multiple firearms were seized during the execution of a search warrant in Victoria, police say.

According to the Victoria Police Department, officers executing a search warrant at a suite within a supportive housing facility in the 700-block of Queens Avenue on April 19.

Once entering the home, officers located a man with outstanding warrants for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and arrested him.

While inside the home, VicPD say officers discovered a loaded sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun, a .22 calibre rifle with a drum magazine, a .22 calibre handgun, drugs, a bandolier, body armour, a “skull” mask, and armoured gloves.

All of the items were seized.

Meanwhile, the arrested man is facing a total of 11 charges ranging from unauthorized possession of firearms to careless storage of firearms and possession of firearms.
